The GOP and the Fiscal Cliff

My conservative friends who think that always holding a hard line is the best thing for the brand of Republicanism as well as my purist friends who mistake idealism for progress are BOTH wrong. I want to be on record as saying that while some compromises on this media-created "fiscal cliff" are acceptable and wise, the idea that we will be damaged (as conservatives) if we do not surrender everything we believe in over the next few weeks is absurd. Position yourself as the grown-up and force this amateur we call President to play against your hand. Boehner is NOT the idiot purists say he is. Just play it cool. If anyone thinks the fiscal cliff is coming on Jan. 1, I have some Y2K goodies to sell you. The Republicans are going to be blamed no matter what. They may as well do the country some good in the meantime.
