Financialization and Missed Boats

Some time back, the American Institute for Economic Research commissioned me to write a white paper on the subject of so-called “financialization” – a subject near and dear to my heart – what it meant, what it didn’t mean, and what commentary was appropriate about it in this day and age of misguided economic thought from the left, and increasingly, the “new right.”  They published the paper yesterday, and I wanted to share a web link to it here.

I suspect it is the longest paper I have written since high school …  And I do feel my approach to the topic is vitally important – that we defend, not demonize, capital markets; that we clarify, not obfuscate, how financial markets enhance our aims of human flourishing.  I welcome your feedback and distribution.
